Grinding balls
VÍTKOVICE CYLINDERS a.s. is a manufacturer of steel grinding balls with a long-standing tradition. Production has been continuous since 1954, when grinding ball manufacturing began using drop forging technology. Since 1961, rolling technology has also been used for grinding ball production.
Today, grinding balls at VÍTKOVICE CYLINDERS are produced using state-of-the-art equipment and at the highest quality standards. In 1998, the production process underwent comprehensive modernization, including the addition of heat treatment technology (quenching and tempering). At the same time, the product range was expanded.

Material and production
The raw material used for the production of grinding balls has undergone extensive in-house development and continues to evolve to enhance the functional properties of the balls and meet customer needs.
By combining high-quality wear-resistant steel with the high hardness of the grinding balls, we ensure exceptionally low wear rates during the grinding process.
The heat treatment process is described in such detail that each grinding ball achieves uniform hardening, guaranteeing the best mechanical properties. This precise thermal processing ensures highly accurate volume hardness values across different batches.
For special requirements, we offer the possibility of producing and delivering custom diameters and various material grades of grinding balls, provided that minimum order quantity conditions are met.
